There is neither moderate Islam nor moderate Nazism

The existence of peaceful Muslims demonstrates only that some don't completely understand Islam while others are inhibited from practicing its explicit bigotry and goal of world conquest. The inhibited ones have not been following the Koran's and the hadiths' commands of what is demanded of the faithful.
Naive Muslims and others don't know that the Koran was written in two parts in two different times. The oft-quoted peaceful verses of the earlier Meccan/"dead" verses have been abrogated by the latter Medina/"living" verses. This is similar to the superseding of the Old by The New Testament of the Bible which established a new religion with new practices. Islamic scholars thus explain the stunning contradictions between these two Koranic portions.
Eg., the Sadith (hadith) Bukhari, Vol. 4, Book 52, #176: "The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Muslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come kill him!'"
Read Chapter 9 of the Koran (Chapters are not usually arranged chronologically.). Eg., 9:29: "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." Jizya is ransom to avoid death by the victors.
As with Imperial Japan, nothing short of a WWII level response against all countries supporting militant Islam will do more than continue to encourage the trend of accelerating and bolder attacks. Earlier, proud Americans were not so naive, cowardly, and evasive as to limit their response to a timid, and consequently losing, Viet Nam-type of semi-war.
The formerly inhibited Muslims are continually encouraged by our modern inaction. And that is the reason they now feel encouraged to follow their true beliefs. "Peace in our time" evasion leads to war in any era.
Sadly, America now deserves contempt from both former friends and new enemies alike - as well as do all of us who slink from the truth. Only when we earn our self respect by both recognizing and facing up to our enemies will we win the actual war and be deserving of peace and prosperity.
